Tips Re Nuvi 650 vs. Navigon 7100 (same price $ 300) - which you prefer and why?
I like the subscription free traffic and the bluetooth with the Garmin for the same price as the Nuvi, but the comments seem to indicate problems with the card while the Navigon Garmin receives rave reviews. Consumer Reports does not even mention Navigon. I wonder if anyone has experience to share. Thank you!
I would go with the Garmin without hesitation. I have not used the two particular models you listed, but I used the low side models of each respective brand (Garmin 360 and Garmin 5100) .. What I like about Garmin (and Magellan) is that the user interface is very intuitive and easy to navigate. Key sequences are logical and short. My dislike for Navigon is that it seemed to take many more keystrokes for get the same point. It was difficult for me to get the hang of it, and I had to read the instructions (!) So with my Garmin felt that the machine guide me through the same steps that I follow myself. The sensitivity of the touch screen was also wide for I need more re-types than I expected. Navigon I look if I was trying to be cheap and take the road out of the mark. But if Navigon and Garmin are the same price, this decision is too easy for me. The overall I consider that Mio. I used it once with rental car in Europe, and it worked perfectly (I have not used in the U.S. though).
