Is it normal for the GPS to not receive signals from satellite television snowstorms?
I just received a Garmin c340 and I returned the first today, because the signal was bad and now what we did the same thing .... it's snowing right now and it has no signal, is defective too?
The Garmin C340 is an old design that uses an older GPS receiver that depends more on the line of sight communication with the GPS satellites. It works less well in areas blocked, such as inside buildings or in the snow. More recently, using GPS Models a new receiver that is much less sensitive to this problem. For Garmin, go with the Streetpilot c510/550/580, or one of the nüvi models.
